Description: Responsibilities include:
- Lead the Oracle database architecture AND development and support of commercial highly-scalable database applications for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry
- Logical and physical data modeling from product requirements
- Develop components for metadata driven, highly-scalable data management systems
- Architect the database solution to meet performance guidelines
- Work with developers on application and database performance tuning
- Develop PL/SQL code for triggers, stored procedures, packages and functions
- Research and guide the development organization on new Oracle releases
- Review product database architecture and design and communicate needs/changes to appropriate technical groups

Requirements: Requirements include:
- Passionate about delivering the highly scalable systems
- Driven by quality with a strong drive to collaborate in a team environment
- Excellent verbal and communication skills
- Produced database designs for large, complex systems
- Advanced knowledge in Oracle PL/SQL
- Database administration experience
- Experience with data warehousing, reporting applications and ETL processing
- Understands Web-based technologies and programming
Additional experience of value:
- Java, XML, developing web services in the database tier, and localization/internationalization experience
- B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent
- Minimum of 10 years experience of database development for commercial software with at least 5 years using Oracle
