Position Responsibilities Include:
- Applies knowledge of and experience of Information Security Standards and Best Practices to design, implementation and support of network, data, application and technology services.
- Assists departmental technical support staff in identifying and implementing appropriate security safeguards.
- Plans, coordinates, and implements security measures for information systems to regulate access to data files and prevent unauthorized modification, destruction, or disclosure of information.
- Assists with the creation of policies and procedures to ensure the security of information assets against unauthorized or accidental modification, destruction, or disclosure.
- Develops infrastructure hardening guidelines.
- Participates in audit, compliance, testing, remediation, and assessment activities.
- Promotes security awareness within IT to ensure system security and to improve server and network efficiency.
- Disseminates security notices and alerts to campus technical support personnel.
- Remains knowledgeable of changes in security technology, industry practices, and state and federal regulatory requirements.
- Performs advanced problem determination, resolution, and analysis of root cause for security incidents.

Requirements: Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED with five (5) years related experience or Bachelors Degree with three (3) years related experience.
- Basic Microsoft administration. Experience in hardware, network protocols, and communications software.
- Experience with HIPAA or Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
- Experience and knowledge applying Information Security Standards and Best Practices
- Understanding of security concepts and their applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Security Certifications (CISSP, SANS GIAC, Security+, etc.)
- MSCE or MCSA / w Security, CCNP
- application security and database security, Active Directory design, firewall design, and remote access technologies.
- Experience with Public Key I
